EDUCATION TO THE FORE IN 2014
The Fund hosted local school children in the prelude to World Migratory Bird Day to explain the issues relating to the conservation of the species and its role in local culture. Thirty Grade 6 girls from Al Asayel School in Abu Dhabi visited the National Avian Research Centre to learn more about the major conservation programme pioneered by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
MIGHTY MIGRATION APP MAKES ITS DEBUT
| 04
The Fund has launched a new Mighty Migration App, which follows the epic and perilous journey undertaken by the Houbara every year. It poses questions that the player needs to answer for the bird to successfully complete its migration. It is a unique electronic educational app that provides a cognitive link to heritage-related issues and also introduces children, in a fun, yet interesting way, to geographical and environmental issues.
The App is available to download for free from the iTunes store at: https://itunes.apple.com/eg/app/the-mighty-migration/id814323893?mt=8
