IFHC is one of the world’s leading conservation programmes. The houbara is emblematic of our culture and key to the natural world; both elements we want to preserve for future generations.
We have already achieved great successes, such as securing the species’ genetic legacy in captivity and reaching a significant level of captive breeding. However, much remains to do if we are to achieve our goal of establishing viable populations of houbara across its range.
Our strategy remains true to Sheikh Zayed’s vision and our commitment is as strong as his passion for conservation. We define our model as Preventive Intervention: acting positively to redress imbalances.
